MOHABBAT | ISHQ | ISHQA
Beneath nourishment, embodiment, and healing, there is a deeper current — the quiet recognition of the non-negotiable presence of love for the Beloved.
Mohabbat carries the devotion, intimacy, longing, belonging, and reverence of Ishq-e-Majazi (عشقِ مجازی) — love experienced through the earthly beloved.
And within it lives the possibility of Ishq-e-Haqiqi (عشقِ حقیقی) — the transcendental love of the Divine. In this movement, the lover gradually sees beyond the beloved to the Beloved; the boundaries of the separate self begin to dissolve, and Fana becomes a surrender of the ego into love.
Such love has the power to lift the veil of separation — from our bodies, from nature, from one another, from the sacred. Something within us continues to remember what the mind may have forgotten. Fear, distraction, pain, and the noise of life may obscure it. They do not erase it.
And perhaps this is what carries us through the darkest passages: not the promise that difficulty will disappear, but the knowing that the Beloved has never left.
